House Season 5 Episode 15 “Unfaithful”

October 30, 2009

In this episode a priest named Daniel Bresson fall victim to what was thought to be alcohol poisoning from drinking too much bourbon.  It appears that this “holy-man” is guilty of a sinful past that has caused him to fall into a state of stress.  Taub and Kutner end up finding out that Daniel had a sexual relationship with a young boy and was later discharged after this incident was discovered.  At the same time this is going on, Forman and Thirteen are asked to split or quit by House because he felt that their relationship is getting in the way of business and their personal lives are affecting their professional careers. When they refuse, Foreman is fired and is left jobless. Meanwhile Daniel ends up getting a heart attack which results in a malfunction of the body. House thinks that this patient may actually have AIDS due to the symptoms seen in Daniel after he seen that his body is infected with a parasitic disease attained from the holy water at church . However, House later sees that he has a genetic condition much similar to that of AIDS but it is not Aids. I think that House is pretty crazy to determine that this priest had AIDS.  It’s discomforting to see a “holy-man” plagued with a sinful past of homo-sexuality as well because it portrays that people who we look up to the most for help may be the same people that are just hypocrites and do wrong too. I rate this episode a 2.

House Season 5 Episode 14 “The Greater Good”

October 30, 2009

This episode really stirred up my emotions and actually made me cry. In this episode many thing occur that showed the characters true feeling. For one Wilson is not yet over his dead girlfriend because there is a mug that is sitting on top of his counter with his girlfriend lipstick mark on it and he has yet to wash it. Thirteen and Forman have sex which obviously means that their relationship has grown to more of than just dating. Forman truly loves Thirteen and he proves that by giving her the actual drug in place of the placebo she has been taking during the clinical trials. As a result of this Thirteen has developed a tumor in her brain which has caused her to loss her vision Foreman was about to risk his career by telling his partner in the clinical trial that he switched up Thirteen’s meds and as a result she got a tumor but that would expose him in breaking protocol and might even get him fired which Thirteen refused to let him do because she loves him as well. The patient that is in this episode is retired doctor herself that help Wilson realized that he can not live his life trapped in the pass and has to enjoy his life and continue living. Forman seeks Houses help in removing Thirteen’s tumor which House agrees to help him in. Thirteen gets her vision back. The episode is about to end and Wilson is washing dishes and next to him is Ambers mug. He looks over to it and grabs it and washes it. This to me shows that he is washing his pass and is ready to move on and live his life which made me cry because this was a very big step that Wilson took I rate this episode a 4 because it was one of my favorites it showed how much love both Thirteen and Foreman have for each other and it also showed how Wilson decided to move on in his life.

House Season 5 Episode 13 ” Big Baby”

October 30, 2009

In this episode House finds that a patient named Sarah, a 29 year old special-ed teacher undergoes a blood disorder. Throughout out the whole episode House and his team spend time trying to find what exactly is causing this woman to cough up blood and have blood clots. House figures the cause of this disorder by Sarah reactions to the annoyances of Cuddy’s baby crying and bickering. As strange as it seems, it turns out that she has a condition called patent ductus arteriosus, which reacts during periods of stress. Cameron has been hired by Cuddy. One of her duties as the new temporary replacement is to make sure House is to stay in check and not get out of order as he usually does, making crazy risks and decisions. However, by the end of the episode she resigns and realizes that she falls too easy for House and that she doesn’t have the will power to say “NO” to House. I personally thought, it was great intriguing episode to watch, but the role of Cameron was juts pointless and I think Cuddy worried too much about not having chemistry with her child. Babies take time to adjust, and you can’t just force someone to bond with you, you have to experience different situations with a person to actually feel the chemistry. I give this episode a balance of a 2 and 3 just because it didn’t interest me as much as the other episodes did.

House Season 5 Epsiode 12 “Painless”

October 30, 2009

Jeff is a young man that is suicidal because of a massive pain he is feeling throughout his whole body that doctors could not explain. After trying to commit suicide he is taken to the hospital and treated by house. Cuddy is expected to have an inspection done from Family Services and is very nervous about it. Cuddy’s reaction to having this inspection is that she really cares about her baby and wants to prove that she is worthy enough to be a mother. Foreman’s and Thirteen’s relationship is taking a different route than I expected. To me it seemed that they were just going to fool around but it seems that they are really falling for each other. I say this because Foreman discovers that Thirteen has been on a placebo and not on the actual drug making him wonder if she would ever get better. I rate this episode a 3 because it kept my attention and it keeps leading the audience to want to know more about the relationship that Foreman and Thirteen is building.

House Season 5 Episode 11 “Joy to the World”

October 30, 2009

Ok this episode had to be like the one episode that left me hanging and urging to see what happens next in the season. Well I will start of with the case it’s based on a young girl who seemed to be peer pressured in making fun of a teacher while singing a Christmas carol.  The young girl passes out and is taken to the hospital there we find out that she was pregnant and contracted a very severe sickness which is going to cause her to live only a few more days. Cuddy was very concern about the fact that she gave birth at a soup kitchen and left her child there covered in her coat thinking that her child was dead, so Cuddy goes to the abandoned house and discovers that the baby was alive and later the baby becomes her adopted daughter because the parents of the girl doesn’t want anything to do with her because it will be to painful to deal with. This episode shows how Cuddy gets her wish granted on becoming a mother and House actually congratulated her by saying Merry Christmas. It’s the holidays and everyone is in a forgiving sprit because of this medical case. Kutner apologizes to an old high school classmate that he use to bully around and One of Foreman’s previous patients that dropped out of the clinical trial for Huntington’s gets back on the case giving Thirteen a hope for a chance of living because of the results the patients has had. During the night like less than a minute before the episode ends Thirteen goes to Foreman to thank him and they end up passionately kissing and the episode ends which made me gasp for air wanting to know what happens because right now the relationship between the character are getting very interesting. I give this episode a 4 becuase it showed many emotions from different characters which gave me a better understanding of who they are.

House Season 5 Episode 10 “Let Them Eat Cake”

October 30, 2009

This episode starts off with a fitness trainer shooting a commercial. During one of the shots one of the men that she is helping train didn’t feel as he could make the last set of stairs. Emmy which is the trainer helped motivate him to complete the set of stairs showing me that she had a great heart by helping others. Right after helping the guy Emmy passes out leading her to Houses care. Thirteen has started to get treatment for her Huntington’s disease but during her wait in the lobby she gets a flashback of her childhood when she sees one of the patients Foreman is treating remind her of her mother. This shows me that she had a very tough childhood because she had to grow up with her mom having the same disease that she has now. Foreman runs some test on Thirteen and he concludes that her nerves are starting to degenerate which freaks both Thirteen and Foreman a little. Cuddy decides to share offices with House which builds up a tension between them both. I really can’t tell if Cuddy is seeking attention from House she just need to really share a room until hers is finished getting remodeled. Having both House and Cuddy share offices was like a world war three. Both of them kept bothering each other and acted like little kids. Wilson to me is like the mentor in their relationship and tells both House and Cuddy to share their true feeling for each other. The episode is about to end when Cuddy walks in to her new office and notices that the desk that she order wasn’t delivered instead it was her old Med-School desk obviously House was the one who brought it for her making her realize that he cares for her. However, when Cuddy goes to thank him she sees that he is with another woman, ending this episode in this love confusion. I rate this episode a 3. Igive it this rating beacues it did keep my interesting in wanting to see what happens next and i also showed the connection that House and Cuddy have more than the other episode I have seen so far.

House Season 5 Episode 9 “Last Resort”

October 30, 2009

So I just finished watching episode number nine of season five of House. This episode was rather interesting because I got a better understanding of where House and Cuddy’s relationship stands and also and understanding of Thirteen’s perception of life. When a furious and confused patient takes House, Thirteen and some other patient’s hostage and threatens their lives if he does not receive treatment from the best doctor the swat team is called to assist in the rescue of the hostages. I think that this event built the momentum of whether or not Thirteen cares if she lives or not. Having Thirteen voluntarily take medication before the patient did was insane. Her immune system can not tolerate many different medications because of her disease but regardless she takes them. During the end of the episode her perception of life has made a 360 and now it is shown that she does care about her life and living after begging the patient for her life when he was forcing her to inject herself with the last drug. Before the gunman came into the hospital House was in Cuddy’s office I wondered why but at the end of the episode when Cuddy went to get something from her desk the draw was placed upside down thus making everything in her draw fall to the ground. I notice that there has been lots of major flirting between House and Cuddy and I am very curious to where their relationship is going. I give this episode a 4 because it help show the audience the characters feeling esspecialls Thirteens.

House Season 5 Episode 8 “Emancipation”

October 7, 2009

Episode 8 from season 5 of House is named “Emancipation.” This episode is based on a sixteen year old independent girl named Sophia who started to cough up blood while working at a factory. She confesses to House that the reason she does not want to contact her family is because she killed her little brother and although it was an accident she feels responsible and does not care if she lives or not. It is discovered that Sophia has acute leukemia and towards the end of the episode House convinces her to contact her parents because it would not be fair if she ends up dying leaving her parents with no children at all. Sophia ends up calling her parents and gets treated. In the mean time Dr. Foreman has his own individual case of a young boy who has been getting very sick. To Dr.Formans disocvery the boy had a overdosage of iron because the boys big brother will give him an excess amount of vitamins. Foreman helps the big brother understand that he gave his little brother vitamins without bad intentions and that his little brother will forgive him. Out of all the episodes I have seen so far this has to be the best one. I rate it a 5 because it was very family oriented and one of the most emotional episodes.

House Season 5 Episode 7 “The Itch”

October 7, 2009

Episode 7 of House season 5 is called “The Itch” is based on a man who surfers from agoraphobia. The patient refuses to leave his house and get treated so Dr. Cameron goes to his house and takes charge of the case because she has once treated this patient before. What made the patient continue with his sickness was some bullet fragments still left in his body from when him and his girlfriend where mugged. At the end of the episode there is a scene in which Dr. Taub and his wife make up, Dr. Chase and Dr. smile to each other showing that they have settled their issue from the patient they had perviously that day. Then, House approaching Cuddy’s doorstep and is about to knock looks at Cuddy through the window and then turns away and walks away. Lastly, the patient overcomes his fear and leaves his house. I really liked this episode because it show that throughout every argument, issue or fear there is always a solution like there was for everyone in this episode. However it also shows it take more time for certain people unlike other like House displayed, that’s why I rate this episode a 5.

House Season 5 Episode 6 “Joy”

October 7, 2009

Joy is the name Cuddy wants to give her adoptive baby and it is also the name of episode six of House season 5. In this episode and unemotional sleep-walker man and daughter are being treated for having the same disease. The man named Harmon sleep walks and even drives. While sleeping he has episodes in which he buys cocaine and uses it. In the mean while, Cuddy meets with Becca who is the woman carrying her adoptive daughter. Becca is sick and Cuddy hospitalize her. Becca makes the decision of having Joy delivered early because if she doesn’t there is a higher risk of her dying. Cuddy is afraid because Joy’s lungs are not full developed. After Joy is delivered Becca tells Cuddy that she is not willing to give up Joy which makes Cuddy confused, sad, and angry, House discovers what was wrong Harmon and his daughter Samantha which was that they both had familial Mediterranean fever. House goes to Cuddy’s house to check up on her and through out their conversation the end up passionately kissing and then the episode ends like a cliff hanger. I’m so upset and can not wait to know what happens next. I give this episode a 5 because it balanced the medical case and Cuddy’s and Houses personal life.
